Jenna Lyons

for roll & Hill

Once the president and executive creative director of J.Crew Group, Jenna now trains her exacting eye and encyclopedic material knowledge on designing furniture, lighting, and interiors. Her love of shape and texture informs each project. Whether the medium is fashion or furnishings, her goal remains the same: to create luxuriously simple pieces that look better with age.

“My inspirations? Film, art, people, architecture, the sky, the trees,

and, of course, the stars.”

I'm not coming over

Jenna works holistically, considering each element and how the finished piece affects its environment. The details determine success. Especially when it comes to
lighting a room.

The Laddi Pendant Star Body

The Laddi

A tactile symphony of solid brass, Italian glass, and raw white oak, this collection began with a highly popular table lamp. It has since expanded into sconces, pendants, and surface-mounted fixtures. All feature an unlacquered, star-shaped metal base that obtains a patina over time, gaining character as it ages.

The Cain Nightstand (Black Walnut/Stone)

The cain

With its classic detailing and spare form, this family of solid-wood tables combines something old with something new. Delicate legs support the body of each piece, while unlacquered brass hardware adds a subtle sexiness. A marble top may be specified for all.

Material matters

For Jenna, everything starts with materials. Then comes craftsmanship: the attention to detail that conveys one’s pride in the work and desire to make a piece last. That ethos carries through her lighting and furniture. We build and finish each piece by hand in our Michigan workshop.

The Judy Bench (Black Walnut/Vachetta Leather)

The judy

Like the Cain tables, the Judy pairs classic detailing with a minimal form. The delicate legs lend a sense of weightlessness to the piece, while the seat, made of natural, undyed leather, will gently patina over time.

Black Walnut

The lion

The Lion’s stately silhouette recalls that of a Louis XIV chair, but with pared-down details and cleaner lines. An upright frame gives the piece a throne-like stature, while thin legs and natural upholstery lend a hint of glamour.
