Jackrabbit studio

for roll & Hill

Jackrabbit Studio founder Brett Miller creates sculptural furniture that sits between function and expressive form. Working primarily in wood, the self-taught designer produces chairs, tables, and lighting that are playful yet rigorous. His pieces explore volume, balance, and emotional impact while remaining usable in everyday settings.

Brett designs through experimentation and intuition. Tools, materials, and process guide the outcome, while abstract shapes and the Mexican and Spanish architecture of his San Diego childhood inform his forms. Tactility and softness matter, as does how each piece feels, physically and psychologically. It’s furniture that engages the body and mind.

“Roundness is a big part of my design vocabulary. Round things feel good and draw you in. They make you think, ‘Ooohhh, tell me more.’”

Throwing Spaghetti at the Wall

Brett’s design process is a form of self-discovery. Instinct leads him toward a material or technique because it feels right to his eye and hand. Only later does he recognize the memories and influences behind those choices.
