Jonah Takagi’s Silk Road is a series of pendant lamps that combines different materials in carefully crafted layers. The lamp consists of a spun-metal shade that sits atop a large piece of hand-blown glass, which surrounds a tapered wire cage and a traditional pleated lampshade. It is a collage of disparate parts, which adds up to something both foreign and familiar.
